I, C S Ratnasamy, was raised in a so-called ‘Religious Christian family’ going to Church and celebrating Easter and Christmas until the age of 40. I believed that I was a wretched sinner saved by Grace. However, I still continued in some or the other sins and thought that every Sunday I had to confess the sins which I did last week for their forgiveness. I believed that somehow, someday my good deeds would outweigh my sins and that is how God will accept me in heaven. Life was a struggle to have peace with God. Then one day a real Christian came across me and asked “Is Christ in you?” The way as a religious Christian my life was I answered “No” because neither I was obeying the Ten Commandments nor did I have peace within me. I was fearful and mostly worried. He gave a simple explanation of the word CHRISTIAN is CHRISTIAN; CHRIST in you and IAN– I am nobody. Apostle Paul got this revelation when he said, ‘I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to,relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Him self up for me.’ Galatians 2:20.   I was thrilled to see the promise in the Bible that“this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossi ans 1:27. Don’t you see here that Christ wants to be in us? Christ did not come to give us more rules but a relationship with God the Father. He is God and gives us Life eternal, which means life of God. ‘And we [have seen and] know [positively] that the Son of God has [actually] come to this world and has given us understanding and insight [progressively] to perceive (recognize) and come to know better and more clearly Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true–in His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). This [Man] is the true God and Life eternal.‘ 1 John 5:20. Life eternal is not merely a concept or idea but He is a person Jesus Christ. The Bible defines, ‘And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.’John 17:3.The common belief about Eternal life is that after we have lived a law obedient life then after our death, we will live with God forever in heaven. However, this is far from the Truth in the Bible. Even though to live with God forever in heaven is part of Eternal life but it is much more than that. It is Christ living in us who says I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.’ John 14:6. Even Jesus’ disciples could not comprehend when he said that, ‘If you had known Me [had learned to recognize Me], you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him.’ John 14:7. What he meant was that he Himself was God the Father. But see the response of His disciples and Jesus’ reply, Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father [cause us to see the Father–that is all we ask]; then we shall besatisfied.Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. Howcan you say then, Show us the Father? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, andthat the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and ofMy own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the ( His ) works (Hisown miracles, deeds of power). Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me;or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince you.]’ John 14:8-11.If someone is not satisfied with Jesus Christ then for this person, God the Father cannot be revealed. The Bible says Jesus is the Almighty God and Eternal Father, ‘For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity],Prince of Peace.’ Isaiah 9:6.Jesus is the express image of God ‘He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-rating or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,’ Hebrews 1:3.   I believe that the religious Christianity is only seeking Christ to ful fil their wants whereas true Christianity is “living like Christ.” Even the word says, ‘Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.’ 1 John 2:6.Jesus does not expects us to merely witness about Him but commanded that we should be “His witnesses,” ‘But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.’ Acts 1:8.Being His witness means, that what He did, we also should do; rather He asked us to do much more than what He did, ‘I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone stead fastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.’ John 14:12.The key to do what Jesus did is just by believing in Him, Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes! Mark 9:23.Christianity is not merely living a moral life but as a true believer doing what Jesus commanded before being glorified, ‘He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race]. He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned. And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.’ Mark 16:15-18.Doing these things is possible only when Christ is in you, ‘So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and He sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirmingthe message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it].Amen (so be it).’ Mark 16:19-20.   A true powerful Christian is one who has understood the Gospel of Grace which is also known as the Gospel of Christ. Apostle Paul defined the gospel as the first important thing to be known by us, ‘For I passed on to you as of first importance what I alsoreceived, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures[foretold], and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],’ 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.One who has believed on the Gospel and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior thus receives salvation, – ‘because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus isLord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heartthat God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being maderighteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with themouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his]salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to,trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].”Romans10:9-11.That’s how in 1998 at the age of 40 I got saved and received Christ in me. Thus, I had a witnessing in my spirit by the Spirit of Christ that I am a child of God. I know that I have a relationship with ABBA Father God and will not face judgement. I can live a real Christian life led by the Spirit of God, ‘For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons[the Spirit producing son ship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “ Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we[believers] are children of God.’ Romans 8:14-16.The Spirit of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit along with gift of precious faith of Christ and His Righteousness & abundance of Grace makes you lead a reigning life in this world and doing what Jesus did when He walked on this earth. Then we are true Christians, ‘For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one (Adam), much more surely will thosewho receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in[eternal] life through the One, Jesus Christ.‘ Romans 5:17.   Christian life is not based on our righteous works, which we do but it is to know what Christ has done for us so that we have Christ in us. Thereafter, HE lives a good life through us and this is by grace through faith that to not of ours but a gift of God and not by our works so that no man can boast before God. This is what we see in the Bible, ‘Forit is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the[undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attemptsto keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used]for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], sothat we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and madeready for us].‘ Ephesians 2:8-10.I found the real Christian life in the year 1998 and am living in Christ and every one of us can if Christ is in you. There are many benefits due to Christ in us, I am quoting some which are as follows:-
  1. We have wisdom of God, right standing with God, holiness of God and redemption from judgement, But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God [revealing His plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to God], and sanctification [making us holy and
setting us apart for God], and redemption [providing our ransom from thepenalty for sin],‘ 1 Corinthians 1:30.
  1. We have absolute trust toward God,‘Such is the confidence and stead fast reliance and2 Corinthians3:4.
  2. We can be guide by the mind of Christ, ‘……Butwe have the mind of Christ[to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].’1Corinthians 2:16.
  3. We are God’s special people, ‘But you are a chosen race , a royal priesthood,
a consecrated nation , a [special] people for God’s own possession , so thatyou may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues andperfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people ; once you had not received mercy , but now you have received mercy .’1 Peter 2:9-10
  1. God can effectively work in you for purpose full ife,‘For it is[not your strength, butit is]God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work[that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to ful fill your purpose]for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13.
  2. We bear fruits of righteousness through Jesus to bring praise and glory to God,‘filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God [so that His glory may be both revealed and recognized]. ‘Philippians1:11.
  3. In the present evil world we live sensible, upright, and godly lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity, ‘It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age,‘ Titus2:12.
  4. We have a victorious and excelling life and our labor is not wasted, ‘but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more
than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point ofexhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].’ 1Corinthians 15:57-58.
  1. Though we do not walk subject to the Law but yet we confirm, establish and uphold the Law, ‘But if you are guided and led by the Spirit, you are not subject to the Law ‘Galatians 5:18. ‘Do we then nullify the Law by this faith [making the Law of no effect, overthrowing it]? Certainly not! On the contrary, we confirm and establish and uphold the Law [since it convicts us all of sin, pointing to the need for salvation].’ Romans 3:31.
  2. We operate in, ‘the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. ……’ Galatians 5:22-23.
  3. The qualities we have due to the wisdom from above, ‘But the wisdom from aboveis first of all pure (un de filed); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).’ James 3:17.
  4. We can speak to move the mountains in our life,‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you,who ever says to this mountain,‘Be lifted up and thrown in to the sea!’
and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that whathe says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’swill].’ Mark 11:23.
  1. During difficult times we endure like a good soldier due to His Grace, ‘Take with me your share of hardship [passing through the difficulties which you are called to endure], like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.’ 2 Timothy 2:3. ‘but He has said
to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My loving kindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is   being perfected [and is completed and shows it self most effectively]in[your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.’2 Corinthians 12:9.
  1. We will be successful and prosperous because Lord isin us,‘TheLordwas with Joseph, andhe[event houghaslave]became a successful and prosperous man;andhe was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.’Genesis 39:2.
  2. We will have sufficiency to give in abundance for good work and charity, ‘And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.’2 Corinthians 9:8.
By Christ in us, my wife Beena and I are able to do the ministry for our Abba Father’s Kingdom and have seen working of signs and wonders in our lives. And this is not by our strength or our power but by the Spirit of the Lord. We encourage you all to do the same, ‘Then he said to me, ‘….. “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [ofwhom the oil is a symbol],” says the Lord of hosts.’ Zechariah 4:6.In the Bible it has been written four times in the books of Habakkuk, Romans, Galatians and Hebrews that, “THE JUST and UPRIGHT SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Living by faith means you should be Born Again believer, ‘For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this isthe victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]. Who is the one who is victorious and over comes the world? It is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that Jesusis the Son of God.’ 1 John 5:4-5.If you are still struggling, as a sinner in your life and not enjoying a 24×7 over coming powerful life as a Christian, then it is time to understand the above-mentioned truths and receive Christ in your heart and let Him live through you.   Prayer for Salvation or Eternal Life The Bible recommends that you can pray by confessing –“Jesus you alone are my Saviour and Lord and I believe in my heart that You died for my sin and God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day for my justification. Lord I open my heart to receive the Holy Spirit so that I will have the faith of Jesus. Now on as your child I have eternal life, make me walk by Grace through Faith of Jesus Christ so that I may fulfil your plans through my life. In the name of Jesus I ask this prayer. Amen.” C.S.
